Step-by-step guide for setting up the Twilio integration in Requiply. After completing the setup, you can send automated SMS notifications to clients from workflows.
Inside Requiply, the Twilio integration works like this: you add your Twilio credentials once, then choose Twilio in a workflow action. When the workflow trigger happens, Requiply sends an SMS to the client's phone number automatically. Twilio is useful when you need a messaging provider with broad international coverage.
Step 1: Prepare Your Twilio Account
Before configuring Requiply, make sure your Twilio account has SMS sending enabled and a Messaging Service configured.
For the integration you need:
- Account SID from the Twilio Console dashboard. It starts with
AC... - Auth token from the Twilio Console dashboard
- Messaging Service SID (SMS) from Twilio Messaging. It starts with
MG...
Requiply uses the Messaging Service SID to send SMS messages. Make sure the service has a valid sender configured in Twilio for the countries you want to message.
Step 2: Copy Account SID and Auth Token
Sign in to the Twilio Console and open your account dashboard. Copy:
- Account SID
- Auth token
Treat the Auth token like a password. Requiply stores it securely and hides it after saving.
Step 3: Create or Open a Messaging Service
In Twilio, open Messaging -> Services and create a Messaging Service if you do not already have one.
Add the sender Twilio should use for outbound SMS. Depending on your country and Twilio setup, this can be a phone number, short code, toll-free number, or approved sender type.
Copy the Messaging Service SID. It starts with MG....
Step 4: Configure Twilio in Requiply
Log in to your Requiply profile:
After logging in, open the Communications integrations page:
Then complete these steps:
1. Click "Configure" on the Twilio integration card
Open the Twilio setup modal from the Communications integrations page.
2. Fill in the integration form
In the Twilio form, enter:
- Account SID
- Auth token
- Messaging Service SID (SMS)
Click Save.
3. Check that the integration is saved
If the credentials are valid, Twilio becomes available as a provider in workflow actions.
Step 5: Use Twilio in Workflows
After the integration is saved, open the Workflows settings page:
Create a workflow or edit an existing one. A typical booking confirmation workflow looks like this:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Trigger type | Booking status reached |
| Booking status | Confirmed |
| Action type | Send SMS / Viber to client |
| Provider | Twilio |
| Channel | SMS |
Example message:
{{clientFirstName}}, your booking for {{bookingStartDate}} is confirmed.
Payment link: {{paymentIntegrationLink}}
Total: {{bookingTotalCharged}}
The message is sent to the phone number on the booking client. The workflow requires a configured Communications integration and a client phone number.
Congratulations! Twilio is now ready to send automated SMS notifications from Requiply workflows.
