Domains

Connect your own domain, such as book.yourcompany.com, so customers open your client portal at your own address. One CNAME record, with steps for Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Хостинг Україна (adm.tools), Hostinger, Wix, Domeneshop, one.com and other DNS hosts.

The Domains page connects a domain you own to Requiply, so customers open your client portal at your own address, for example book.yourcompany.com, instead of portal.requiply.com/<your code>.

You can find this page under Settings → Organization → Domains, at https://app.requiply.com/settings/org/domains.

Admin only, Advanced plan. Only admins can add or remove domains. Custom domains are part of the Advanced plan: on Core the page shows an Upgrade button, and the Client portal tab of the website editor shows a crown next to Portal address.

How it works

  • You connect a subdomain, such as book.yourcompany.com or rent.yourcompany.com. Your main website at yourcompany.com keeps working as it is.
  • The subdomain needs one DNS record: a CNAME that points to an address Requiply gives you for that domain, for example yourcode-3fa9c1.domains.requiply.com. That record both sends your customers to Requiply and proves the domain is yours.
  • Requiply checks the record by itself, then gets a secure (HTTPS) certificate for the domain. You do not upload or renew certificates.
  • Once the domain is live, links Requiply sends (booking emails, payment pages, the website embed's checkout and account links) use your domain. Your portal.requiply.com/<your code> address keeps working too.
  • Search engines are pointed to your domain as the main address of every public page, and your domain gets its own sitemap at https://book.yourcompany.com/sitemap.xml. Google then lists your products under your own address. See Search engines and Google.

Connect a domain

  1. Open Settings → Domains and click Add domain.
  2. Enter the subdomain, for example book.yourcompany.com, keep Use it for: Client portal, and click Add domain.
  3. Requiply looks up where the DNS of yourcompany.com is managed and opens the setup with steps for that panel: a button to open it, the record to add with copy buttons, and a link to the provider's own guide.
  4. Add the CNAME record in your DNS panel and save it.
  5. Leave the window open or close it. Requiply keeps checking, at first every two minutes, and moves the domain on as soon as it sees the record.

If Requiply guessed the wrong DNS provider, click Somewhere else? and pick yours, or Other or not sure for general steps.

The record

FieldWhat to enter
TypeCNAME
Name (some panels say Host or Subdomain)The part before your domain, for example book. If the panel wants the full name, enter book.yourcompany.com.
Value (some panels say Target or Points to)The address shown in Requiply, ending in .domains.requiply.com
TTLLeave the default
Show all records in the setup also lists a TXT record. You only need it when your panel cannot hold a CNAME for that name. It proves the domain is yours, but the domain still has to point to Requiply.

Statuses

StatusWhat it meansWhat to do
Waiting for DNSRequiply has not found the record yet.Add the record. DNS changes usually show up within minutes and can take up to 48 hours.
Issuing certificateThe record is in place; the HTTPS certificate is being issued.Nothing. It usually takes 1 to 5 minutes.
ActiveThe domain serves your portal.Share the new address.
FailedThe setup stopped, for example because another Requiply account already connected the domain.Read the message in the setup, fix it, then click Check now.

The setup steps at the top of the dialog follow the same order: Record found, Secure connection (HTTPS), Live.

If someone else manages your website

Many rental companies have a web developer or agency who manages the domain. In the setup click Send them these steps:

  • Copy link gives you a page with the record and the steps for your DNS provider. It needs no Requiply login and shows nothing else from your account, so it is safe to send.
  • Email the steps opens your own email app with a short message and the link filled in.

The link works for 14 days. Asking for it again within that time gives the same link.

Steps for your DNS provider

Everywhere the job is the same: add a CNAME record named after your subdomain (book) with the value Requiply shows. The notes below cover what is different in each panel. Requiply shows the matching notes in the setup itself.

Cloudflare

  1. In the Cloudflare dashboard open your domain, then DNS → Records → Add record.
  2. Choose type CNAME, enter the name and the target.
  3. Set Proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud). With the orange cloud on, Requiply cannot see the record or issue the certificate.

Cloudflare's guide: Create DNS records.

GoDaddy

  1. Open My Products → DNS for your domain.
  2. Add New Record, type CNAME.
  3. In Name enter only book: GoDaddy adds your domain by itself.

GoDaddy's guide: Add a CNAME record.

Хостинг Україна (adm.tools)

Sign in to adm.tools, open your domain's DNS records and add a CNAME record for the subdomain.

Хостинг Україна's guide: Adding DNS records.

Imena.ua and Mirohost

Sign in to your Imena.ua or Mirohost account, open the DNS zone of your domain and add a CNAME record.

NIC.UA

Open your domain in the NIC.UA panel and add a CNAME record in its DNS settings.

NIC.UA's guide: Configure DNS with NIC.UA.

Prom.ua

If your domain's DNS is managed by Prom.ua, open the domain settings in your Prom.ua account. If you do not see DNS records there, ask Prom.ua support to add the CNAME record for you.

HOSTiQ, Cityhost, HostPro and Hosting.ua

Sign in to your hosting panel, open the DNS zone (on cPanel hosting: Zone Editor) and add a CNAME record.

Hostinger

In hPanel open Domains, then the DNS records of your domain, and add a CNAME record.

Hostinger's guide: How to manage DNS records.

IONOS

Open your domain's DNS settings in your IONOS account and add a CNAME record. IONOS adds your domain to the name by itself, so enter only book.

IONOS's guide: Configuring a CNAME record for a subdomain.

Namecheap

Open Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS, click Add new record, choose CNAME Record and enter book as the host.

Namecheap's guide: How to create a CNAME record.

Wix

Open Domains in your Wix account, choose your domain and manage its DNS records, then add a CNAME record. Wix adds your domain to the name by itself.

Wix's guide: Adding or updating CNAME records.

Squarespace

Open Domains in your Squarespace account, choose your domain, then DNS → Custom records, and add a CNAME record.

Squarespace's guide: Adding custom DNS records.

Domeneshop, one.com, Simply.com, Loopia and Zone.ee

Sign in to your account, open the DNS settings of your domain and add a CNAME record for the subdomain. These panels ask for the subdomain only (book).

Other providers

Add a CNAME record wherever the DNS of your domain is managed. That is usually the company you bought the domain from, or your website host if you moved the DNS there. In Requiply, pick Other or not sure to see the general steps.

Primary domain

If you connect more than one domain, the first one to go live becomes the primary domain: the one Requiply uses in emails, payment pages and links. Click the star next to another active domain to make it primary instead.

Remove a domain

Click the trash icon next to the domain and confirm. Customers who open that address no longer reach your portal. If it was the primary domain, Requiply's links go back to portal.requiply.com/<your code>, or to your next active domain. You can then delete the DNS record.

Common scenarios

  • You run your website on WordPress or Wix and want booking on book.yourcompany.com. Add the domain here, add one CNAME in the panel where your domain's DNS lives, and link the "Book now" button on your website to the new address. On WordPress you can also put booking buttons and a cart on your own pages with the website embed; its checkout then opens on your domain.
  • You want Google to show your own domain. Connect it here. Once it is Active, your portal's public pages name it as their main address, and you can add https://book.yourcompany.com/sitemap.xml in Google Search Console. Old portal.requiply.com results move over as search engines recrawl.
  • An agency manages your website. Add the domain, click Send them these steps and email the link. You see the status change to Active once they are done.
  • You want yourcompany.com itself to be the portal. Root domains are not supported yet: your main website would stop working anyway. Use a subdomain such as book.yourcompany.com.

Tips and cautions

  • Pick a short, clear subdomain: book, rent and booking work well for customers.
  • Keep the DNS record in place. If it is removed, the domain stops serving your portal and Requiply's links switch back to portal.requiply.com/<your code>.
  • Downgrading from Advanced to Core stops serving your own domain; your portal.requiply.com address keeps working.
  • Changing your web URL code in Organization info does not affect a connected domain.
