Requiply

Client portal

The customer-facing site of your rental business: self-service booking, one-time-code sign in, an account where clients follow and cancel their bookings, booking buttons on your own website, and pages that Google and other search engines can find.

The client portal is the public side of Requiply. Customers browse your catalog, pick their dates, and book on their own, and they can sign in afterwards to follow, pay for, and cancel what they booked. No staff involvement is needed for any of it.

This is how you let customers book without calling you. Instead of taking booking details over the phone and typing them in yourself, you share one address, and the bookings customers make there arrive in Requiply already complete, with the stock held and the payment taken if you ask for one.

Your portal lives at portal.requiply.com/<your web URL code>. The code comes from Organization info, and every page under it belongs to your organization only. On the Advanced plan it can also run on your own domain, such as book.yourcompany.com, see Domains. The bare address portal.requiply.com is shared by every rental company: a customer who signs in there sees a list of the companies they have an account with, see Signing in without a company link.

The portal is a separate site from the Requiply app your team uses. Staff work in app.requiply.com, customers use portal.requiply.com/<code>. Share the portal address, never the app address.

Pages in this section

  • Portal settings: the Web → Edit screen in the app, where you set the brand color, corner style, logos, browser tab icon, payment methods, and sign-in methods, with a live phone preview beside the editor.

  • Customer accounts: one-time-code sign in, the bookings list, the booking page, self-service cancellation, and the profile.
  • Booking assistant: the optional AI chat that answers catalog, availability, and price questions and can start a booking.
  • Website embed: booking buttons, product cards, a date picker and a cart on your own website, including WordPress and WooCommerce, with checkout on the portal.

What the portal takes from the rest of Requiply

The portal has no settings of its own beyond the ones on Portal settings. Everything else it shows is the configuration your team already maintains in the app.

Comes fromWhat it drives on the portal
InventoryThe catalog: item groups with their images, codes, categories, prices, price types, and live availability. Archived and non-bookable items never appear.
ServicesServices are not part of the portal catalog. The ones you pick under Checkout services are offered as switches at checkout. A service your team adds to a booking is listed on the customer's booking page with its price.
Pricing tiersThe price breaks shown on an item page and the rate used for longer bookings.
Pricing discountsA signed-in customer's personal discount, applied automatically and shown on their profile.
DepositsThe Security deposit line at checkout and on the booking.
Date & time settingsWorking days and hours. The portal only ever offers times inside your working schedule.
Booking durationMinimum duration and buffers, enforced while the customer picks dates.
Booking creationWhich date picker style the portal shows, the status a checkout arrives in (Default status for new bookings), and the status an assistant booking arrives in (Status for booking requests).
LocationsThe pickup location shown at checkout and on the booking, with a link to the map.
PaymentsWhich online providers can be switched on for checkout.
LocalizationThe language the portal opens in, plus date and currency formatting.
Organization infoName, description, contact details, logos, and the web URL code in the address.
Booking statusesThe status name a customer sees on their booking, the steps of its progress bar, and, through your transitions, whether they may cancel it online.
SubrentalsSupplier-sourced products can be offered at their client rate. Supplier names, costs, and margins are never shown.
WorkflowsEmails, messages, and notifications fire for portal bookings exactly as they do for bookings your team creates.

Search engines and Google

Your portal can be found on Google, Bing and other search engines, so a customer searching for "projector rental" in your city can land straight on your product page. Requiply handles the technical side by itself; there is nothing to switch on.

Which portals are indexed. Search engines may index an organization's portal while it has a paid Requiply subscription. Portals in a free trial are kept out of search results, and so are demo and test organizations. If a payment comes in late, the portal stays indexed for 7 days after the paid period ends before it is taken out.

Which pages are indexed. Only the public pages:

PageAddressWhat search engines read
Home pageportal.requiply.com/<your code>Your organization name and description, or a generated line such as Book a rental from {name} online... (with the city of your default location when it has one).
Catalog.../<your code>/itemsRental catalog of {name}: prices, photos and availability for your dates.
Product pages.../<your code>/item-<product-slug>The product name, its description (or a line with its price), its first photo, the price per day, hour or month, and whether it is in stock.

Checkout, sign-in, the customer account, booking pages and the chat are never indexed, and neither is the preview inside Portal settings.

Product addresses. Each product page uses a readable address made from the product name, its slug, for example .../item-sony-fx6. The slug is created automatically, is unique in your organization, and does not change when you rename the product, so links and search results keep working. Older links that used the product's ID still open and are redirected to the slug address. The same slug identifies the product in the website embed.

Sitemap. Requiply publishes a sitemap of your home page, catalog and products and keeps it current, so search engines pick up new products without you submitting anything. On portal.requiply.com your pages are part of the portal's own sitemap. On your own domain your portal has its own sitemap at https://book.yourcompany.com/sitemap.xml; you can add that address in Google Search Console if you use it. With your own domain, search engines are pointed to your domain as the main address of every page, so results show book.yourcompany.com rather than portal.requiply.com.

Link previews. When someone shares your portal or a product in a messenger or on social media, the preview uses the same title, description and image: the product photo on a product page, your logo elsewhere.

How to appear higher in search results. Write a real description of your business under Organization info, give each product a clear name, a photo and a description, and set a location with a city under Locations. Link to your portal from your own website and social profiles. A new portal usually takes days to weeks before it shows up in search results.

What your team sees in the app

A portal booking is an ordinary booking. It lands in Manage bookings and on the Calendar like any other, and it can be edited, invoiced, and progressed the same way.

Two optional fields tell you the portal was involved:

  • Origin on a booking, which reads Booking page for anything booked on the portal. Add it to the bookings table under Table column layout or to the booking page under Detail page fields.
  • Client portal on a client, which says whether they have an account and when they last opened it. Add it under the same two pages for the Client level.

Checking out creates or reuses a client record, so a portal customer appears in Manage clients with their bookings attached.

Who can set it up

Editing the portal needs Allow website management in the member's permission group. Customers need nothing: they never get a staff account, a membership, or a seat on your plan.

Plans

The portal itself, including customer accounts, is part of every plan. Two options depend on yours:

OptionRequires
Booking assistant on the portalAdvanced plan, plus AI credits
SMS sign-in codesAdvanced plan
Selling items in the Items to buy stepAdvanced plan, plus the Sales feature
Chat with your team instead of the assistantEvery plan, with the Conversations inbox on
Your own domain, such as book.yourcompany.comAdvanced plan, see Domains
Being found on Google and other search enginesAny paid plan; not during the free trial

Common scenarios

Opening the portal for the first time

  1. Fill in Organization info, including the web URL code that becomes your address.
  2. Make sure the catalog is bookable: item groups with images, prices, and quantities.
  3. Set the working schedule under Date & time settings, so the portal offers real pickup times.
  4. Open Portal settings, set the color, corner style, logos, and tab icon, and switch on the payment methods you accept.
  5. Click Save, then Open booking page to walk the flow as a customer.
  6. Share portal.requiply.com/<your code> on your website and in your social profiles.

The portal does not show up on Google

Check that the organization is on a paid plan: portals in a free trial are not indexed. Then give search engines time; a new portal can take a few weeks. Pages behind sign-in and checkout are never indexed, so search for your organization name or a product name rather than a booking.

A customer says the price on the portal is wrong

Prices are never entered on the portal. Check the item group's price and price type in Inventory, the pricing tier that applies to the duration, and the client's discount. The portal recalculates everything on the server at checkout, so what the customer pays always follows those settings.

A customer cannot pick the time they want

The portal only offers times inside your working schedule, and it enforces minimum duration and buffers. Review Date & time settings and Booking duration. The Allow booking outside of working hours permission is for your team only and never changes what customers see.

Tips and cautions

Tip: The live preview in Portal settings is the real portal in a phone frame, so you can test the whole booking flow there before you save anything.
Heads up: Anything you change in inventory, pricing, or working hours is live on the portal straight away. There is no separate publishing step for catalog data.
